There might be a little thing i didn't like here or there but it is nothing compared to the entire book.

(i know there are some folks that don't like the 'animal fantasy' genre as a whole. Dicamillo's novel is an absolute wonder of children's literature. Young children who love the movie might enjoy this book, but other than that it's a book that has no audience or worth.

While the story was quite interesting, i was shocked by the level of violence and abuse in the book. The graphic novel is a poor adaptation designed for the sole purpose of marketing the tale of despereaux movie. Rather than giving the film the desired intelligence and grace, however, the approach merely makes the tale of despereaux feel uneven, occasionally awkward and a bit too slow to hold the attention of younger children. In some ways, this fits a story that feels like a fairy tale, and, in other ways, it does little to enliven a story that is somewhat slow paced.
